The 2012 FBi Radio’s annual SMAC Awards (Sydney Music Art and Culture Awards) are open again for nominations! The SMAC’s are awarded each year to the artists, musos, venues, promoters, creators and culture makers who keep Sydney’s creative heart beating. Last years winners included Cloud Control, Guineafowl, Heaps Descent, Laneway Festival, and Changing Lanes Festival.
The Jezabels and Cloud Control sign to overseas labels
Two Sydney acts have been scooped up by overseas labels within the same week, with indie four piece The Jezabels being signed to Mum + Pop (home to Sleigh Bells, Alexisonfire, Tokyo Police Club and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart) in the US and Dine Alone Records in Canada.

The Australian Government’s Office for the Arts’s Round 22 of the Contemporary Music Touring Program is now open for tours starting from 1 July 2012. Applications close at 5pm on 2 December 2011.The Contemporary Music Touring Program provides funding support for contemporary music touring activities.
