The University of Newcastle Conservatorium of Music and MusicNSW are pleased to reveal the speakers and sessions for PLUG IN, a free mini conference for musicians and industry professionals covering all aspects of performance, production and promotion.
Held on Saturday 25th October at Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, PLUG IN will kick off with The Social Musician Panel, featuring experts providing advice on how one can effectively use online services to build an audience. The panel will discuss ways to embrace our new digital age, by demonstrating how the social musician can plug in to this growing market through the use of social media.
The Social Musician Panel Industry Speakers:
Moderated by Kirsty Brown (MusicNSW)
Dayna Young – Select Music
Dayna Young is a Senior Agent at Select Music, where she represents artists including Miami Horror, Goldroom, Client Liaison, Crooked Colours, Thief, KLP (triple j house party), Nicole Millar and Japanese Wallpaper. She has also worked at Jam Music (where she worked on programming for Good Vibrations Festival) and Ministry of Sound’s UK based, International Touring Division.
Zoh Dowling – HOST
Zoh fell backwards into social media when a job as a mouthy bartender landed her a marketing role at a music venue. When the Oxford Art Factory opened, she joined the team to set up and manage their digital marketing and PR, and today she runs a small team of social media legends at Sydney ad agency Host.
