1. What was the first band you saw live?
Superheist. In Moree. I grew up in the country. That was the only thing that ever came through town. And I had already finished high-school at that stage. Late bloomer.
2. What’d you learn from them?
That more (and better) bands need to play in regional Australia. Kids have fuck-all chance of seeing music or being exposed to anything interesting.
3. Got any pre-gig rituals?
I drew a diagram of what my set-up should look like down to the way the pedal knobs should be facing. I like to check against that. And play into my headphones before plugging into the p.a.. I don’t like sound-checks where anyone else gets to hear. It should be a surprise.
4. What do you think the most important issue effecting aritsts in NSW is today?
Not enough places to play.
5. If you weren’t a musician what do you reckon you’d be doing?
Reading more, and I probably would have finished the degree I started eight years ago.
