APRA AMCOS and PPCA will be teaming up to further develop the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Music Office, which was originally established in 2008.
This new partnership aims to help the ATSI Music Office deliver its key goals and objectives. PPCA will work with APRA AMCOS and the ATSI Music Office to provide opportunities for ATSI artists, build market presence and help address problems associated with remoteness.
“As a nation we derive enormous national pride from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, both past and present,” said APRA AMCOS CEO Brett Cottle. “APRA AMCOS is committed to supporting and investing in the future of ATSI songwriters and composers. We welcome the support of the PPCA which will assist with the ATSI Music Office’s industry development work.”
Dan Rosen, CEO of PPCA agrees. “It is a pleasure for PPCA to be able to help the ATSI Music Office and assist industry development for ATSI artists.”
“We are thrilled to help the organisation reduce the gap and overcome the challenges faced by ATSI artists by helping to facilitate access to mainstream market opportunities for creative and professional development.”
“PPCA and APRA AMCOS have a shared objective of supporting our homegrown artists in both capital cities and regional areas, and celebrating their contribution to the Australian music scene. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
