A new acoustic music night has started, at The Welcome Hotel, featuring performances by Australian songwriters. Produced and programmed by Umbrella Artist Management (home to The Rubens, Cloud Control, Urthboy, Fishing), the night is called Menagerie and will happen every Sunday from 4pm.
Not your average ‘acoustic – open mic’ night, Menagerie aims to foster a sense of community in the local area and aims to provide an intimate space for artists to share their work, test new material or just have some fun. Emerging artists as well as established artists will be encouraged to make submissions to Umbrella also, so songwriters – get to it!
The nights will be free to attend, and you will also be able to grab yourself some good ol’ Sydney pub food whilst you watch the acts play. The first night was held on March 2nd, and will continue into March with acts like Paul Conrad, Brendan Gallagher, The Phonecurves and Maples.
