Applications are now open for the Hilltop Hoods Initiative!
One emerging Australian hip hop/soul artist will have the opportunity to fast track their career with the initiative, which is valued at $10,000. It is open to all up and coming hip hop/soul artists or groups who have not yet released an album professionally.
The initiative is aimed at funding costs associated with the manufacture, release and promotion of a debut album. The prize pack also includes legal advice courtesy of David Vodicka and Media Arts Lawyers for general or specific career advice. The winners also will receive Zoo York and Shure Microphone prize packs.
The judging panel features includes:
Hau (ACT) – Artist (Koolism), Presenter (triple j’s the Hip Hop Show)
Nish (SA) – Graffiti Artist, Indigenous Community Worker, Promoter
Ran-Dee (NSW) – Manager (Def Wish Cast, NTSC), Booking Agent, Promoter
Raph (VIC) – Artist, Clothing Label Owner (Blank Clothing), Author (Behind The Beat)
Tom Thum/Tommy Illfigga (QLD) – MC, Beat Boxer, Graffiti Artist, B-boy, Producer
Applications open 14 January 2014 with entries closing 25 February 2014.
The winner will be announced 27 March 2014.
