Ten new recordings have been added to the Sounds of Australia list!
Sounds of Australia (formerly known as the National Registry of Recorded Sound) was established in 2007 by the National Film and Sound Archive as a selection of sound recordings with cultural, historical and aesthetic significance and relevance, which inform or reflect life in Australia.
Each year, the Australian public nominates new sounds to be added with final selections determined by a panel of industry experts. They can come in many forms such as pop songs, advertising jingles, radio broadcasts, famous speeches and other sound recordings that reflect Australian culture. However they must be over a decade old, and of course, by Aussie artists!
