Fairfield City Council has just announced an industry and community forum called Social Change Through Creativity. This event plans on bringing together people who want to make a deep impact using arts and culture.
The forum will be held on Tuesday 25 June from 10am – 2pm at the Fairfield School of Arts. This is a free forum for local service workers, artists and cultural practitioners. If you plan on attending a RSVP is required by Friday 21 June.
The forum will include presentations from guest speakers about how they used creative and community cultural development when addressing major issues in communities and how this has impacted the community. Following the presentations there will be mini-workshops to assist the development of your work plan or project idea that will impact the community.
This will give service workers, artists and cultural practitioners the chance to meet others with similar goals and ideas which may lead to strategies for in-kind funding support and possible partnerships.
Presenters include:
Community Cultural Development Practitioner – Dr Paula Abood
Cancer Council Communty Educator – Debbie Nguyen
Filmmaker and Transmedia Artist – Maria Tran
Beyond The Square Theatre Maker, Disability Advocate and Arts Worker – Alison Richardson.
Fairfield City Museum Co-Ordinator & Education Officer – Carmel Aiello
