In results just released, the importance of community broadcasting in the development of local talent and local culture is confirmed.
New research shows that on a national basis, community broadcasting exceeds it minimum quotas for Australian music, reaching an average of 35% Australian music per week. An increase on the already impressive previous survey results.
On top of this, community broadcasters across the nation are recording a significant 271 hours of local music hours every week.
These figures are part of the latest Community Broadcast Database Survey. The survey, conducted in 2005, is the third national data collection to be made by the sector.
