It’s that time of the year again! Record Store Day Australia is happening on April 20 with special vinyl releases and over 20 events happening across the country to celebrate!
Gotye will be releasing a hot pink 12” of State Of The Art which features a previously-unreleased The Chap’s State of the Television remix. Vinyl artwork is done exclusively by Rubber House. Rice Is Nice’s latest edition Good Heavens will also be releasing limited edition releases, as well as Hermitude and a Learning Curve compilation called Held Hostage.
On the international front, you can expect special releases from Ben Harper, David Bowie, Human League, Pink Floyd, The Verve, MGMT, At The Drive-In, The Cure, Of Monsters and Men, The Roots, Nick Drake, Sex Pistols, Frank Zappa, The Velvet Underground and The Rolling Stones.
As for events, see below for some of the key events happening in NSW!
– Five 2SER DJs playing vinyl from 2pm at Mojo Record Bar on York Street Sydney, with a live broadcast in the evening.
– Kim Salmon will play an insotre at Repressed Records in Newtown, from 3pm.
– Tiny Ruins is instore at TITLE Surry Hills (Sydney) at 3.30pm to play from her new 10″ release Haunts.
– White’s in Newcastle have The Gooch Palms and The Nugs performing live from 3pm.
-The Record Crate in Glebe, Sydney will screen Last Shop Standing, the official movie of Record Store Day in the UK.
