In what will be a very sad day for the Australian music industry, EMI staff members will be losing their jobs this morning as the music giant finally closes up shop.
This is due to EMI being sold to Universal in November 2011. Chairman and Senior VP of Marketing at EMI Mark Poston stepped down from his role a couple of weeks ago.
Australia is now the fourth country in the world to approve Universal Music’s A$1.86 billion (£1.2 billion) acquisition of EMI Music.
