The Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) has officially announced the performers for the 7th annual Jagermeister Independent Music Awards, which are to to be held at the Revolt art space in Kensington, Victoria on Tuesday October 16. Included in the list are some prolific Australian artists such as Paul Kelly, You am I frontman Tim Rogers, and The Bamboos.
As one of the most prominent singer-songwriters in Australia, Paul Kelly’s music career spans over 25 studio albums with his 26th set to be released this year (the first on his own independent label). His nephew, Dan Kelly, will be joining him on stage at the AIR awards ceremony. In another exciting collaboration, Melbourne’s internationally renowned funk, soul, and R&B band The Bamboos will be performing with Tim Rogers.
Other artists on the line up include electronic hip-hop artist act Hermitude, whose who are still buzzing from the success of their fourth album release in February-HyperParadise, alt-country singer-songwriter Lanie Lane, whose debut album To the Horses demonstrated a unique pairing of early rock & roll, blues, and rockabilly, plus one of 2012’s most intriguing emerging artists, Loon Lake, who just released their second EP Thirty Three. Last, but not least is the Melbourne hardcore band House vs. Hurricane, who released their second full-length album Crooked Teeth earlier this year. Crooked Teeth is also the first recording to feature their new singer Dan Casey.
With such a wide variety of musical genres and styles being represented this year, the 7th Annual Jagermeister Independent Music Awards will not disappoint.
