The Australia Council for the Arts and Art Support Australia have been embarking on a national strategy to explore the opportunities in crowdfunding for cultural and creative projects. Considering that in 2011 alone, $1.5 billion was pledged across the world by the ‘crowd’ into various crowdfunding platforms, it really seems to be a quick and cost effective way into the future creative minds.
The Australian Council for the Arts and Arts Support would like to share their results from their pilot program investigating crowdfunding, so they are inviting you to come down to their free Sydney seminar from 5.30-7.30pm Monday 30 July at The Opera Centre in Surry Hills.
During the seminar you will learn about:
- Practical tips on how to run successful campaigns, including setting your target; planning your campaign; developing compelling pitches; and spreading the word.
- What to do when it all looks like it’s going wrong and ultimately, how to turn one-time backers into lifetime supporters.
- Case studies from people who have been successful with crowdfunding.
- Findings of the commissioned research undertaken by Queensland University
Each session will also include one-on-one question time with the panellists and the Artsupport Australia Manager for your state or territory, so come armed with your questions and ideas for campaigns.
