Applications are now open for artists to showcase their works at the AWME music industry conference, which kicks off in Melbourne on Thursday 15-Saturday 18 November 2012.
Considered to be Australia’s music industry showcase event for roots music. AWME engages with music industry representatives from around the world, creating new opportunities for musicians overseas and broadening their networks.
Last year 300 musicians. 460 local and international delegates and 8500 audience members gathered together to participate in four days of music, workshops, seminars and showcase concerts.
Showcasing at AWME opens up doors for many artists, assisting them in securing exporting, touring, booking deal, label and festival opportunities. Past showcase performances include acts such as Femi Kuti & The Positive Force (Nigeria), The Congos (Jamaica), Groundation (USA), Mulatu Astatke (Ethiopia), Mercan Dede (Turkey), Blue King Brown, Archie Roach, Katchafire (NZ), Dan Sultan, The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Mad Professor (UK).
The AWME will incorporate over 500 high profile local and international representatives from some of the worlds leading festivals, record labels, booking agencies and art organisations.
