In the third round of MusicNSW’s Quick Response Grant Funding, created to support artists and managers in developing their export opportunities, we are pleased to announce two new recipients of this funding!
MusicNSW is excited to announce it will be supporting several bands to attend the annual Sound Summit conference this coming October long weekend.
Siberia Records, home to the acclaimed Australian three piece Midnight Juggernauts have received funding to showcase their independent record label. The quick response funding will allow them to send Kirin J Callinan, No Art, Forces and Siberia DJs, as well as label manager Daniel Stricker to attend, perform and network at the conference.
Additionally, emerging electronic two piece Domeyko/Gonzalez have also been funded for a showcase opportunity at Sound Summit, where they will play at the Wormwood event and participate in panel and networking opportunities.
Sound Summit takes place in Newcastle from Sept 29th – Oct 2nd and is a festival and conference event dedicated to supporting independent and innovative music. We wish all the bands the best of luck!
MusicNSW, through support received by Arts NSW, developed the quick response grant program to support artists and artist managers in developing export opportunities whilst attending Australian industry conferences, trade fairs and other events in 2011.
This funding program focuses on attendance at Australian conferences and trade fairs as a means to developing relationships in international markets prior to travelling overseas, and to assist in the development of business skills and a national audience. It is also available to support career-defining opportunities that would otherwise be cost prohibitive to artists, which may consist of major support opportunities or other key showcase events.
Round 3 Applications are open now and will close on September 30th, 2011.
The final round will close on October 30th, 2011.
Submissions can only be made by artists (and/ or their managers) based in NSW. All applicants must be Australian citizens or have permanent residence status in Australia. More information can be found online at www.musicnsw.com
