Jinja Safari – supported by Husky + Pear Shape at Oxford Art Factory Saturday July 16th
After a few months in hibernation, the crusaders of forest-rock, Jinja Safari, are now pleased to announce The Mermaids & Other Sirens Tour. On the cusp of carving a trail supporting Boy & Bear on their sold out national tour, Jinja Safari embark on their own shows. The Sydney group promise to share the explosive live show that earned them the 2010 SMAC nomination for Best Live Band at what will be their first headline tour for 2011.
So you can get your hands on some new Jinja tunes before the tour, Jinja Safari are tricklng out the tracks that make up the Mermaids & Other Sirens EP to fans for literal pittance. Like a joyful game of hide and seek Jinja Safari have given a few of their friends in the media a track each to hide amongst their newsletters/ blogs or websites as a free download. A new track will go online each month until the whole EP is released in August.
The first free download to kick off the Mermaids & Other Sirens collection is the new single Hiccups. It can be found amongst a few other good treasures at triple js website: triplej.net.au. The next to track off the EP to play peek-a-boo will be Scarecrow on Wednesday, 18th May.
Joining Jinja Safari nationally will be Melbourne four-piece Husky whos new single Historys Door has been frequenting on radio waves around the country. The Mermaids & Other Sirens Tour with Jinja Safari will be the first taste of Huskys new album, Forever So which was recorded in a homebuilt studio in Melbourne, before being sent to USA to be mixed by Noah Georgeson (The Strokes, Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart).
