A VIP trip to the massive Coachella Festival in the USA and a chance to meet Katy Perry or Rammstein are just some of the ‘money-can’t-buy’ experiences and collectables going under the hammer to support Queensland’s flood relief efforts.
The Queensland Music Network (Q Music) has today launched an online Rock N Roll Auction to raise money for The Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal – an online event featuring items and experiences generously donated from artists around the globe.
Among them is the chance to meet pop icon Katy Perry at her Brisbane show, the opportunity to catch up backstage with German industrial legendsRammstein at the Perth Big Day Out, a private show by The Gin Club, and signed collectables from Iggy and The Stooges, Kate Miller-Heidke and plenty more.
V Australia have shown their generosity by donating return premium economy airfares to Los Angeles which have been teamed with a pair of VIP tickets to the Coachella Festival in California to create an incredible experience for music fans. Art enthusiasts will also have the chance to bid on a Reg Mombassa artwork and a PJ Harvey print from Brisbane music photographer Stephen Booth.
Q Music sent out a request for exclusive music items to their Australian and international contacts and the overwhelming response is expected to see the auction run for a number of months – providing valuable ongoing support for those affected by the record floods.
Major Brisbane festival Soundwave – who were planning their own fundraiser – have also now joined forces with the Q Music effort, while the Laneway Festival has offered up VIP passes to the next ten years of that event.
To view and bid on auction items go to www.rocknrollauction.com.au which is being continually updated. The auction bidding will be held on eBay and all money raised will go to The Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
Q Music have received approval from The Department of The Premier and Cabinet to conduct this fundraising auction. Our reference number is TF/11/4269.
