The radio industry’s initiative, New Artists 2 Radio (NA2R) has announced ten independent artists to bring their music to commercial radio.
The finalists were chosen from nearly 300 entrants by leading music and program directors of commercial radio stations, based on their commercial radio play potential.
This year’s NA2R finalists are:
Alexandra Valmorbida – 15 year old pop/rock artist and songwriter, based in Melbourne
Kirsten Allendorf – 16 year old singer, songwriter from Brisbane
Radio Ink – electro pop group from Sydney
Starlight Theatre – four piece rock/pop band from Brisbane
The Smart – electro-rock, Brisbane-based four piece band
Georgia Juliette – singer/songwriter hailing initially from Perth
Delamare – five person rock/pop band
Solver – three piece rock band based in Newcastle
TDB – indigenous, Aussie hip hop band
Vera Fernandes – emerging pop, urban artist
These independent artists will attend a radio workshop with leading program and music directors and music marketing professionals in Melbourne in mid September.
