If you’re a budding musician or have big ideas for a project but don’t have the funds, you can apply for a $2500 Buzz Grant from the Foundation for Young Australians.
Previously offered by the Music Board of the Australia Council for the Arts, Buzz Grants are available for professional development for heaps of stuff related to music.
YOU CAN HAVE ONE FOR:
• Creating new work in the areas of songwriting, composition or developing material in a studio
• Performing work including gigs, tours or other identified showcase opportunities
• Recording work including studio time, mixing and CD manufacturing
• Professional Development opportunities including mentorships or attendance at masterclasses.
YOU CAN’T HAVE ONE FOR
• Legally incorporated associations, companies or universities
• To buy fresh gear/studio equipment
• Initial training – you have to show that you’re already making moves as a musician
• Medical treatment
• Undergraduate Study
• Retrospective funding
But essentially these are grants to help musicians do what they love even more.
