2007 is the third year for an Artist to receive the title of ‘ABC Music Publishing & APRA Songwriters and Composers Recognition Award’, and the second time that an artist will receive a $1000.00 cash prize (courtesy of APRA). We are very pleased to announce Grace Turner as the recipient of this prestigious Award. Grace found her own voice as a singer-songwriter and has been playing with a band for the past year who play, in contrast to her own compositions, a mix of psychedelic rock.
Eloise Nolan, Head of ABC Music Publishing and Services played an integral role in establishing the ABC Music Publishing & APRA Songwriters and Composers Recognition Award.
“The 1233 Music Awards are about both recognising talent and creating an opportunity to further develop careers. With this Award, we hope to be able to assist a young writer such as Grace Turner who already shows much promise in both her lyrics and melodies. Grace has a way with words, and if we can help her on her journey, through both the cash grant and also access to our collective expertise so that she can further hone her skills and perfect her craft, then we’ve also achieved what we set out to do by being involved,” Eloise said.
