There are many journeys in the music industry and no one right way to get started. Really, it’s about finding what will work for you and building the knowledge and skills you need to get there, your way. From 6pm, a panel of powerhouse players will share their own experiences building their careers and businesses from the ground up - from setting goals to overcoming setbacks, staying true to yourself and building confidence and connections along the way.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from:

  • Malyangapa, Barkindji woman BARKAA, hailed ‘the new matriarch of Australian rap’
  • Comedian, writer and broadcaster Gen Fricker (Melbourne Comedy Festival, triple j, ABC TV, Sydney Morning Herald, The Guardian)
  • Manager, entrepreneur and event producer Rice Xu (Tai Tuivasa, HSU events, Hydrogen Water H20)

This panel will be hosted by Danii Mariner, international touring hip hop and Indonesian dancer, and founder and director of charity 92Communities.

From 7pm, join our masterclass for practical guidance and tools to help you take your message to the world. Matt Jordan (MFPR) will explore how you can build a brand that feels authentic to you and your community, and how to capture and keep attention in this busy world.

This is also a great chance to meet MusicNSW local Coordinator Kelly Hellmrich and share how MusicNSW can support you and music in Western Sydney more broadly.
