A message from Kaleena Smith, First Nations Development Coordinator.
Happy NAIDOC everyone! It’s that time of the year where we come together across the country to celebrate the culture, diversity, and history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
From 3 to 10 July you can attend or volunteer at events that celebrate, support, and promote all the deadly achievements of First Nations people. NAIDOC stands for National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee and each year communities hold talks, exhibitions, performances, markets and more across the country in celebration.
This year’s NAIDOC theme is Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up. And it’s a call to take action, not just to acknowledge the challenges but to participate in change and committing to supporting First Nations people.
For more information about what is happening around the country and locally check out the NAIDOC website.

MusicNSW works on the unceded land of the Gadigal people. We pay respect to Elders past and present and extend those respects to the First Nations peoples of NSW and beyond. Always was, always will be.
