The 2009 ARIA Hall of fame inductees have been annonced and will be celbrated in Melbourne in August. This year the inductee’s include John Paul Young, Kev Carmody, Little pattie, Mental as Anything and The Dingoes.
Little Pattie, originating from Paddington Sydney expresses her gratitude for this induction “This induction into the ARIA Hall Of Fame comes as such a surprise, I wasnt expecting it, I am so thrilled and honoured. Its incredibly special to be joining my cousin Chrissy in receiving this recognition.” Little Pattie known for her emulation of 60’s surfer culture in Australia with hits like ‘Stomping in Maroubra’
Fellow Sydney-ites Mental As Anything will also be inducted; “”It is an honour to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame alongside all the great Australian
acts who are already there and those that will be included in the future. We had no inkling of such things when we did our first gigs as an art school party band in 1976. I would like to thank the fans who have supported us and all the people in the industry that we have worked with over the years”. MENTAL AS ANYTHINGS REG MOMBASSA
John Paul Young who emigrated to Australia to call Newcastle Home is also being inducted with the hit under his belt – love is in the air: “It’s an honour to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame, now point me to the lounge room, I wonder who’s in there.”
These NSWelshmen and women will join Kev Carmody who is the second Indigenous Australian to be inducted, and The Dingoes.
