From the country town of Armidale, Anthony Green is no stranger to the spot light having performed various genres in various acts. He explores his country roots through his self titled solo act.
1. What was the first band you saw live?
The first band I saw live was Dingo Creek. My father was the lead guitarist. I was about 7. I have a photo of me standing next to my father playing air guitar.
2. What’d you learn from them?
What I learnt from them was practice makes perfect. They were a really good band that played good songs.
3. Got any pre-gig rituals?
Before a gig I try to be relaxed and happy.
4. What do you think the most important issue effecting artists in NSW is today?
Probably learning how to engage the industry and make your music work for you as an artist and a business
5. If you weren’t a musician what do you reckon you’d be doing?
I’m currently employed at Drummond Memorial Public School as a teachers aide and Ive done a bit of youth work so if I wasn’t a musician I would be working with the youth.
6. Most inspirational Indigenous act you have seen live
Most inspirational Indigenous act Ive seen was warumpi band at the 2000 Stompem Ground in Broome.
Watching those guys rocking out their set and the crowd getting into it was inspirational.
