1. What was the first band you saw live?
Mitosis playing at my high school in 2003.. this death metal/goth band who were a friggin juggernaut… i’ve never seen a band who looked so badass… watching teachers frantic and struggling to cut the power… it was the best thing i’ve ever seen… I still have their EP and listen to it regularly… I wished they never broke up.
2. What’d you learn from them?
Nothing will stand in my way on the road to becoming a self-sustaining and successful artist.
3. Got any pre-gig rituals?
Vocal warmups… lots of water… singing in the shower… letting someone else drive to the gig…
4. What do you think the most important issue affecting artists in NSW is today?
Lack of support for people with crazy experiments/original ideas.
5. If you weren’t a musician what do you reckon you’d be doing?
In a psych ward writing up the walls in my own blood.
