The 2025 Regional & Remote Music Summit will take place in Byron Bay (Bundjalung Country) from 23 - 25 July 2025, hosted by MusicNSW.
Now in its second year, the Summit once again centres the voices of regional and remote artists and industry leaders in a national conversation about the future of the music industry.
The 2025 Summit will be held in the largest regional music centre in NSW and provide a crucial platform for regional artists, industry professionals, community leaders, researchers and policymakers to explore challenges and opportunities in regional NSW and across Australia.
At a time when regional communities are navigating unprecedented challenges—from extreme weather events to ongoing recovery efforts—the role of music in supporting connection, resilience, and renewal has never been more vital.
With the theme ‘Strengthening Regional Music Communities,’ the Summit offers two days of in-depth discussions, workshops and showcases—bringing together diverse voices from across Australia and beyond to collaborate, exchange ideas, and drive meaningful action.
MusicNSW Managing Director Joe Muller acknowledges the challenges facing regional communities and sees the Summit as a platform to advocate for the supporting role music plays in these areas:
“In what has historically been the Splendour week, the Regional & Remote Music Summit will invite artists and industry professionals from across Australia to Byron Bay to share, listen, connect and collaborate. This is an opportunity to centre regional and remote artist and industry voices and ensure that music remains a driving force for connection, renewal, and the long-term sustainability of our communities.”
The 2025 Regional and Remote Music Summit is supported by Music Australia and Sound NSW.
