Sydney Sound Advice to explore music scene-making and independent artist development this March - MusicNSW
Sound Advice - For The Culture - Speaker Headshot Collage
On 31 March, artists and industry professionals from Sydney and beyond are invited to Mothership Studios (Marrickville) for Sound Advice: For The Culture.

Across two sessions, we're bringing together artists and reps from music collectives to talk about community building, artist development and more.

The first is a panel discussion hosted by Tahmyna Rad and featuring FRIDAY* (Full Circle), Shivani Sharma (EMC, artist manager), Moses MacRae (Close Friends Records / Scruffs) and Jannah Beth (Offbeat Collective). They'll be talking about the power of collaboration, thinking outside the box, and carving out space in niche markets and sharing strategies for community building.

Then, shortly following, will be a deep dive masterclass on independent artist development with DEVAURA and her manager Jannah Beth.

Since breaking through in 2023, DEVAURA's accolades have included Triple J Unearthed Laneway Competition Winner 2025, the 2024 Acclaim Magazine x PUMA Wildcard Award, FBi SMAC Awards for Best Live Act & Best Emerging Act, and the Justin Cosby Best Emerging Act at SXSW Sydney 2024. Hear DEVAURA and Jannah break down the strategies behind building a distinct and individual identity how this has shaped DEVAURA’s journey as an artist.

The whole evening is an opportunity to meet and chat with artists and industry professionals. Arrive from 5.30pm for hangs and refreshments.
