LOCKOUTS OUT FOR CBD & OXFORD ST
As a result of the tireless efforts of music, culture and night time economy advocates, the NSW Government has announced it will repeal the lockout laws for Sydney's CBD and Oxford St precincts from January 14. This is obviously a great first step, but it is just that - a first step. There is much more to be done in the fight to rejuvenate Sydney's night life, and we look forward to continuing that work in 2020.

MUSIC FESTIVALS ROUNDTABLE
The NSW Parliament passed the Music Festivals Bill this month, and it included the establishment of the first ever Music Festivals Roundtable. This is no small achievement.
The process of music festival policy development and implementation over the last 14 months has wreaked havoc on the festival industry, with many claiming there was insufficient consultation with industry and experts. The Music Festivals Roundtable mandates that government and industry meet 4 times a year to ensure ongoing communication and collaboration, so that festivals are able to survive and thrive in NSW.
