Travelling in the same direction as Virgin and Qantas, Jetstar have listened to the feedback of their muso clientele and expanded their carry-on policy.
Customers will now be allowed to bring larger musical instruments onboard with them. The criteria is “smaller than 85cm (height) x 36cm (width) x 23cm (depth), which weigh less than 10kg” for onboard hand luggage which would permit most brass instruments, plus violin, violas and guitars to be stored in the overhead lockers.
Larger instruments will still require the musician to either purchase a seat and strap in the instrument, or to check it.
