The Association of Artist Managers (AAM) has just announced it’s signature artist manager mentor program is now open for applications!
With support from APRA/AMCOS, the mentor program was launched last year, and pitches younger managers with AAM Executive and top general managers in a unique mentor relationship for 12 months. An induction event will be held in early October for the successful applicant and their mentor. Applicants who apply will be assessed on the quality of the acts they represent, their experience in management and their ability to plan for their artist’s careers.
As if this wasn’t exciting enough, this year additional funding has been provided from a partnership between AAM, Warner Music and the Jimmy Little Foundation has been established to support the existing (and increase the number of) Indigenous managers. Through the Jimmy Little Indigenous Managers Fund, successful Indigenous applicants can apply for travel and accomodation to attend the induction event as well as limited related costs. Plus additional skills development opportunities will be provided, including an one-on-one mentorship.
Hurry, applications close Friday August 30, 2013. This program is only open to AAM members unless you are applying for the Junny Little Indigenous Managers position. For more information head to www.aam.org.au.
