Vivid Festival have just announced the Vivid LIVE program for 2013. Vivid Festival will be kicking off on May 24th and will run until June 10th, with the festival program bringing forward new ideas through innovative talks, inspiring panels and workshops, plus stunning light shows and projection mappings with be featured on city centre buildings, including the festival’s home-Sydney Opera House. Vivid LIVE 2013 has been curated and directed for the second year in a row by Fergus Linehan.
Joining previously announced headliners German electronic pioneers Kraftwerk, Vivid LIVE will feature Empire of the Sun (will be premiering their new album Ice on the Dune over two nights) American RnB legend Bobby Womack, Sounds of the South (ft. Justin Vernon), Gurrumul, Scott Walker, Karl Hyde (Underworld), Cloud Control, Scanner (UK), C.W. Stoneking, Sunnyboys and Matthew E. White. These artists will appear alongside reinterpretations of music by legendary act Joy Division and Vangelis’ Bladerunner soundtrack.
Showcases will be presented this year by Future Classic, Goodgod Danceteria! and Club Kooky. Lineup details for these showcases will be announced in April.
