Millie Millgate, Executive Producer Sounds Australia says,”The launch of the app is a great leap forward for Sounds Australia. We have to be able to keep up with technological advances and we are constantly trying to find better ways to make it easier for the international music industry, media and audiences to gain access to Australian artists and music businesses. This app gives people that information, directly to their smartphone.”
Sounds Australia app will cover conferences, trade shows and conferences such as Midem, SXSW, Canadian Music Week, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape, Folk Alliance, Americana, CMJ, Music Matters (Singapore), Reeperbahn Festival, Nokia Music Connects (Mumbai) and satellite shows in Los Angeles, New York, London, Berlin, Manchester, Paris, Delhi and Bangalore.
Glenn Dickie, Export Music Producer stated, “What goes on at places like South by Southwest no longer has to stay there. The time of collecting thousands of business cards is over. This app allows you to build and maintain an ever expanding database of Australians who are performing and doing business outside of Australia. From showcase performances to networking events, if Australians are active in or around an international music conference, you’ll be able to find them on the Sounds Australia app.”
