Australian award winning composer and musician, Jared Underwood, has won the 2013 Tropscore competition, and 13 year old Jackson Hurwood has won the inaugrual Tropscore Jr.
APRA’s Manager of Film & TV, Michelle O’Donnell, said, “Jared’s passion and talent for music and film is unequivocal. He’s been the drummer of Sydney cinematic pop band CODA for 13 years – CODA have twice been nominated for an ARIA award. What’s more, he’s collaborated with a number of film composers and this shows in his entry. It’s fantastic that his score will be showcased at Tropfest.”
“Tropscore and Tropscore Jr. are such unique competitions that illustrate just how important music is to the films they accompany,” said O’Donnell. “I have no doubt that we will see great things from both Jared and Jackson in the future.”
