Prolific Australian hip hop group The Hilltop Hoods and APRA are teaming up again this year to bring you the chance to secure $10, 000 to go towards building a career as a successful hip hop or soul act in Australia.
The initiative is aimed at helping fund the manufacturing and marketing of an album release, and the grant is open to any act that hasn’t yet released anything professionally.
One emerging Australian hip hop/soul artist will have the opportunity to fast track their career with the 2013 Hilltop Hoods Initiative. Valued at $10,000, the grant is open to all up and coming hip hop artists or groups who have not released an album professionally.
In addition, the winner will receive legal advice courtesy of David Vodika and Media Arts Lawyers, which can be used for general or specific career advice plus a Shure Microphone prize pack. In 2012, the Hilltop Hoods Initiative winner was Run For Your Life.
Applications open open on 15 January 2013 (today!) and close on 26 February 2013. The grant recipient will be announced: 28 March 2013
