The Australia Council’s music board has set up a new pilot grant scheme, offering up to $50,000 to small to medium scale labels to help them with costs such as recording, websites, marketing and administration.
The new grant scheme comes as a result of the Ausco board liaising with industry bodies such as ARIA, PPCA, APRA/AMCOS and AIR, plus artists, managers and others.
Earlier this year Associate Professor Shane Homan from Monash University compiled a report.from this findings that has led everyone to agree that small to medium labels needed the most support.
“We would hope that the outcomes of this pilot program will further strengthen the case for increased support for music recording,” said OzCo’s director of music, Paul Mason.
Deadline for applications is February 18. To find out more information not only this grant, but more new grant opportunities that will be available through Ausco in the new year, head here.
