The National Indigenous Music Awards were held in front of 2500 people at the Darwin Amphitheatre last Saturday, 11 August and Queensland band The Medics had a winning streak!
The Medics pulled the winning spot for the New Talent of The Year, Album of the Year (for their debut Foundations) and Song of the Year (for Griffin).
For the second year running, Gurrumul Yunupingu won Artist of the Year, beating fellow category contenders Jessica Malboy, Troy Cassar-Daley, Busby Marou and The Black Arm Band.
Cover Art of the Year went to Yunupingu’s collaboration with Sarah Blasko-Bayini and East Journey took out Film Clip of the Year for Ngarrpiya.
