The Arts Activated Conference: Desire and Destination is taking place on October 30 and 31, 2012, bringing together national and international leaders, artists and artworkers with or without disabilities to present a two day to be held at Sydney’s new accessible arts centre The Concourse in Chatswood.
There will be a range of panels, break out sessions and presentations, with keynotes being led by Associate Professor Petra Kuppers from the University of Michigan USA, Alfred Deakin Professor of Australian Studies and David Walker from Deakin University VIC.
“There is a growing desire for a stronger arts and disability culture in Australia, as well as a deeper understanding of the value of participation in the Arts by people with disability. We hope you will join us to strengthen arts and disability in Australia,” said Conference Convener Amanda Tink.
During the two day conference social and cultural program Walsh Bay Arts Table 2012 will be kicking off featuring guest speaker Robyn Archer, Creative Director of the Centenary of Canberra (2013) and the new Deputy Chair for the Australia Council for the Arts.
Registrations are now open. Early bird registrations close 15 August 2012. Full fee registrations close 15 October 2012.
