The 2012 Art of Music fundraiser is a unique event filled with visual art and live music to be held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales on Saturday June 2nd. All proceeds from the fundraiser go directly to the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy foundation who works directly with children and adults who have physical and intellectual disabilities, autism, trauma, illness, dementia, behaviour disorders and learning difficulties by using music as a means of therapy.
Presented with Jenny Morris, the event will showcase an exhibition by ten prominent contemporary visual artists, with each artist choosing an ‘iconic song’ to inspire their work of art. These art works will be auctioned off at a gala dinner in the Grand Court at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Live performances on the night will be from artists Washington, Martin Plaza, Reg Mombassa and Peter O’Doherty (Mental As Anything).
Tickets are $500 (of which $350 is tax deductible).
