APRA has announced today the nominees for the 2012 APRA Music Awards to be held on Monday 28th May at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Now in it’s 30th year, the awards are an annual celebration of Australian finest contemporary songwriters and their publishers.
This year’s nominees have been selected over nine categories and include Lanie Lane, Wally de Backer (Gotye), Kimbra, Paul Ridge (Drapht), Daniel Rankine, Matt Corby, Boy and Bear, The Potbelleez, Marvin Priest, Daniel Merriweather, Charlie Yunupingu and David Yunupingu, Shane Nicholson and many more.
The 2012 APRA Song of the Year nomination goes to Adelaide four-piece The Beards for their song You Should Consider Having Sex With A Bearded Man written by Joel McMIllan.
