The war between the PPCA and commercial radio over simulcast payments is heating up as it goes into another round of legal action.
As reported by TMN, the PPCA have been fighting against Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) in the Federal Court about paying CRA paying out extra royalties for simulcasts or in other words, online streaming of recorded music by radio stations. On February 15 the Federal Court ruled that the CRA were in the right.
Last week the PPCA lodged an appeal to be heard by a Full Bench of the Federal Court so we will keep you posted on how the situation progresses.
