Following a series of discussions with City of Sydney Youth Services and some key music industry patrons, MusicNSW’s Indent and the COS held a Youth and MusicRoundtable on January 24 which explored the opportunities and hurdles for maximising youth participation in live music in Sydney.
The roundtable was a great chance for open discussion between Indent, the council and key stakeholders of the youth music and arts industry, addressing how to increase accessibility, cultural awareness and artistic development amongst Sydney’s youth culture.
This introductory roundtable meeting will be the first in an ongoing dialogue between Indent, The City of Sydney and Sydney’s music and arts community, and will be used to influence policy and to advocate on behalf of the youth centre within the contemporary music industry.
