Vera Fernandes is and independent Australian pop artist. The model-come-singer now 26 years old, has collaborated with the most in-demand, multi-ARIA award winning producers Audius Mtawarira & Leon Seenandan to record and co-write her first two singles off her forthcoming album All About You.
What was the first band you saw live?
I think it was Silverchair from what i can remember when I was in high school.. Loved them!
What did you learn from them?
I learnt that stage presence is everything and great music will earn you long life fans..
Got any pre-gig rituals?
Not really, I get so nervous before each performance so I will literally be just warming up and rehearsing my song over and over.
What do you think the most important issue affecting artists in NSW is today?
I think, generally speaking, there is an issue with making a living out of music, especially for independent artists. Digital CD sales are on the decline and yet there are more ways then ever to connect with new fans- that is a really tough issue for artists locally and abroad.
If you weren’t a musician what do you reckon you’d be doing?
I’d be doing what I do now when I’m not working on music, I work in marketing within digital and social media.
