After a ten week window of public votes, the winner of this year’s award has been announced.
Short Stack were crowned this year’s Australian Artist of the Year during the annual ceremony at The Museum of Contemporary Art.
The young trio smashed out their competition, including Amy Meredith, Bliss N Eso and John Butler Trio.
“Thank you so much to everyone who voted and Channel [V],” stated a stoked Short Stack. “This is the icing on the cake for an amazing year for us and the beginning of This Is Bat Country.”
This is the second time the band has won the award, also taking out the title back in 2008 for their debut album.
