Soundclash is an initiative of the Music Board that supports the creation or development of innovative, risk-taking contemporary popular music. The initiative seeks to fund musically successful experimentation within contemporary music forms such as rock, hip hop, pop, electronic dance music, and other related genres.
Potential applicants should review the assessment report from rounds one and two of Soundclash here.
Applications are encouraged from artists that have not previously applied to the Music Board.
What will the Australia Council fund?
Soundclash provides funding of up to $10,000 for costs associated with a contemporary popular music project. Projects are restricted to the creative development of new work, which includes composition, commissioning, songwriting, rehearsal, collaboration with other artists, etc.
Costs associated with the recording, production or promotion of a CD release are not eligible under Soundclash.
