NSW Artists are again leading the export charge – this time at Europe’s leading festival for new music, The Great Escape.
Out of a delegation of 15 Australian artists, 9 are from NSW, including Angus & Julia Stone, Art Vs Science, bluejuice. Bridezilla, Dappled Cities, Larissa McKay, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Sarah Blasko, teenagersintokyo.
These artists will be featured as part of an Australian focus at The Great Escape 2010 – an event acknowledged for its role in unearthing some of the best up-and-coming bands from across the globe.
As part of the focus, Sounds Australia will be presenting a series of events to profile Australia to the UK and Europe’s top music industry players.
Sounds Australia is Australia’s national music export initiative, established to deliver a cohesive and unified platform at international showcase market events, supported through a financial partnership between both Federal and State governments, along with peak music industry bodies whose aim is to help Australian musicians and artists pursue their dreams on the global stage. The festival’s partnership with Sounds Australia will see a litany of Australia’s most exciting musical offerings making the journey to the UK’s south coast to join up with 350+ bands performing in 30 venues spread across Brighton over the course of three days.
