Australia’s Independent Music awards – MusicOZ are calling for entries for their 2009 event. With $300,00+ worth of prizes, Australia’s largest prize pool, the awards have acted as a launching pad for artists like Cog, Bluejuice, Mammal, Borne and Felicty Urquhart.
MusicOZ is a national initiative with the ambition of ‘improving orginal music culture in Australia’ and has over it’s past 9 years acted as a launching pad for independent artists of all genres. Dubbed as the ARIA’s for independent artists the Awards now make up ony the start of what the ole folks down at MusicOZ get up to offering artist development, industry opportunities and support and now monthly prizes for those who enter the awards from now.
Entries are now being sought after across 17 genres:
Rock, Pop, Dance/Electronica, Urban, Country, Alternative, Acoustic/Singer-Songwriter, Schoolies, Video, Metal/Hardcore, World/Folk, Live, Jazz/Classical, Blues/Roots, International/Instrumental, and Christian/Spiritual
All entries are Music Oz awards and will also go into the following break away awards:
The NOVA unsigned iniatitve, The APRA Songwriters Award, Tony Mott Photography Award, Garth Porter Producer Award, People’s Choice Award and The Musiz Oz Artist of the Year Award.
