MusicNSW and Arts NSW send artists to Big Sound - MusicNSW

MusicNSW with support from Arts NSW have committed funding to assist NSW artists to attend the 2009 Big Sound conference. Big Sound is an industry summit and showcase of Australian artists to an international market and is a beacon of emerging talent and hungry music fans.

Staged across six venues in Fortitude Valley, Brisbanes entertainment precinct, BIG SOUND will bring together more than 60 acts performing across two nights. BIG SOUND is the largest annual music event of its type in Australia. Produced by Q Music and now in its eighth year, Big Sound is positioned as Australia’s most internationally focused conference, producing three days of panels, workshops and artist showcases for local, national and international music industry representatives.

NSW artists include ASTREETLIGHTSONG, Belles Will Ring, Cabins, Cloud Control, Lions at Your Door, Old Man River, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Slow Down Honey, Super Massive, the Dead Sea and The Devoted Few and, just announced, Bluejuice and Bertie Blackman, all of whom will receive funding to assist in the showcase event. They’ll be joined by  triple js unearthed Big Sound competition winners Parades, all of whom will be flying the NSW flag with skill, talent and incredible awesomeness.

Big Sound is happening September 9 – 11 throughout Fortitude Valley in Brisbane. The conference by day will invite discussions from new technologies to Australian festivals and everything in between. By night the city comes alive with the brightest lights and now 14 of the best NSW artists.
