ARTIST APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR AWME 2009 - MusicNSW

The Australasian World Music Expo (AWME) returns to the Arts Centre in Melbourne this year from 19-22 November and is now calling for applications from artists who wish to showcase in front of AWME’s select audience of international and national music industry delegates. Applications close Friday July 24.

Now in its second year, AWME will attract festival bookers, booking agents, record labels, managers and music media from around the world to gather in Melbourne and sample the finest world, Indigenous and roots music of the Australasian region.

Artists are invited to apply for AWME showcases, with applications closing 24 July. Traditional and contemporary Indigenous artists and world music performers from culturally and linguistically diverse groups are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to artists whose music is export-ready.

Interested artists are invited to send a bio, high-resolution photo, and music samples via MP3 or website links to: artists@awme.com.au before 5pm on Friday, 24 July. Queensland artists selected for official showcase slots may be elegible for travel assistance from Arts Queensland.
