All Australian artists in all genres are invited to submit their 2008 album to be in the running for the 2008 Australian Music Prize.
The AMP has increased its cash prize to $30,000 thanks to sponsors PPCA.
Last year’s winner of The Amp, the Mess Hall, said that the money they received has helped them tour as well as allowing them to set up a permanent recording and rehearsal space.
“It’s enabled us to have a bit of financial breathing space before we start the recording process again,” says the Mess Hall’s Cec Condon. “It’s been a blessing”.
