A special series of free seminars have been announced for early August in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane for musicians, managers and music entrepreneurs hoping to showcase at or attend the 22nd South by Southwest Music Festival & Conferences to be held March 18-22 in Austin, Texas. Band submissions and delegate registrations start the week of August 4 & these seminars are crucial.
And on Wednesday, August 12, there is a free national videoconference in all capital cities’ Austrade offices from noon to 2pm with seven speakers (below).
Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane seminars begin with 6pm networking drinks, followed by a DVD of highlights of SxSW as well as feedback from bands and attendees at 6:30. At 7pm a panel of veteran music business delegates, media who’ve attended, government arts and music association staff will talk about:

A videoteleconference between key cities and Los Angeles on how to best use Austrade resources in advance in Australia, through the Australian Music Office in LA and on the ground in Austin. Tips on visas, travel, showcasing, publicity, promotion, professional business strategies, pre and post event grants through Austrade, Australia Council new export programs, state and others will be discussed.
